Program Overview

You Can Become a Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP)

QMAP is an abbreviation for "Qualified Medication Administration Person". QMAP is a qualified position, not certified or liensed. A QMAP is not trained in judgement or assessment.

Objectives:

  • Safely administer medication (prescription/non-prescription) according to physician orders .
  • Charting, using standard documentation.
  • Use of proper techniques when administering medications by the various routes.
  • Safely and accurately fill and administer medication to and from medication reminder boxes.  

Authorized Settings:

Assisted Living Residences, Alternative Care Facilities, State Certified Adult Day Programs, Residential Child Care Facilities, Developmentally Disabled (with additional training from PASA)

Program Details & Schedule

We offer day and evening class schedules. Smaller class sizes allow for individualized, hands-on training; approx. 6-8 students per class.

First class day

Time: 8:30am-1:30pm (Unless otherwise stated during registration)

The first day of class consists a curriculum review, skills simulation, and test preparation. Students will have the opportunity to work hands-on with a licensed medical professional. We pride ourselves on effective, individualized teaching.

Second class day

Time: Start at 8:30am (3-4HR length)

The second day consists of testing. Our written test is 100 questions. Students must score 85% to pass.

  • 18 years or older
  • Valid State ID or Driver's License
